I draw the line on my cars, I may use grease on the bolt, but mine are drivers, and so it goes.. These bolts had nicks and socket marks when new. I saw many fan should bolts installed sorta crooked ( sheet meta screw) from the factory. As you get later into the 70's the undersides had less coatings and were rusty upon delivery, especially lower a frames and rear ends, brake cables, shackles...
