no that is the original paint on the car. I bought the car from a couple in Wichita ks who had bought two of them new (both HO cars. hows that for a couple with good taste in cars). this one was the wifes and she sold it to me back in around 83 or 84. her husband wouldn't let his go however.

Just so I get this straight for the informal '71 Ram Air 455HO Formula registry,he Castillion Bronze car was originally Cardinal Red with a rubber roof on it? That is thye one you bought form the wife. Do you recall what trannys were in each?

must have confused you. the two 71's are black w/ black cloth interior and the other one is (I missed quoted it earlier I think) actually code N5 with 13 interior trim which translates to rosewood metallic with sandlewood vinyl top and sandlewood custom interior.
the 72's are red with black standard interior, sundance orange with ivory standard interior and yellow with black standard interior.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never seen a real Rosewood painted anything, let alone a Formula 455HO with Ram Air.

So that brings the current total to:

Wow - what a great color combo, and nicely optioned. Ram Air, and looks to still be wearing its original alternator and 15" JW/KR wheels, too. That was a deal, project or not.

Lost in all is the dealer it sold from originally. Royal in Michigan ads value too. Well bought and hope it's treated to a nice restoration. Great color and interior combo.

My guess it will stay in Michigan...
