Sorry for not posting a reply sooner, I was put in a short "vacation" by the mods.
Anyway, yes still making some progress and hope to have the body on the frame soon.
And to answer your question, yes I believe the underside to be black.

Thanks GW!! I see places on the underside of my 69 that look as if it had a black finish especially the area under the gas tank. What % gloss did you use, 60%?

Charles, I used DuPont Imiron in satin. I sprayed out the satin and semi gloss and the satin was a more accurate representation to me.
Restored my pedals today. Took apart and blasted with crushed glass. Painted with cast and black. Cooked the bolts in zinc phosphate.
Just need new pads and trim.

Just got my hood hinges back yesterday. Rowland Hall restored them for me. Notice the numbers he reproduced in his rivets. I put one of the original rivets next to the reproduced one in the second photo.
I had Chem Processing do the manganese phosphate coatings on them.
Pretty pleased.

Got to sand on the bumper today. Tell you what that SPI epoxy primer is the chit! Sands so good, unbelievable!

So it's been quite some time since I've done an update. Have got a lot of things accomplished. Getting paint matched now. Should be painted this month.
Here's a shot of a stand I made out of an engine stand to hold the endura bumper for paint. Works great.



We are in the process of wet sanding everything now. Door jambs and underside of deck lid ready for paint. Doing hood and fenders etc this weekend.
I posted in another section about how hard it is to get paint for this car! No formulas in top of the line paints. Getting it figured out with the help of some friends, mostly Hobi.
Anyway hope to have some good pictures soon.

FINALLY! Got some paint on the car today! Jammed the doors and got the back side of the deck lid all done. Just kind of checking color and how the material lays down.
This is a shot of Walker laying down the money coat. Have known him since high school.



DBC base and 2002 clear.



Wet sanding body tomorrow. All other parts wet sanded and about ready to go.

Congrats!!! I'm sure you will be glad to get her finished and back on the road. Thanks for the up-date and pics GW. You have done a excellent job, please keep posting pics of your progress if you have the time. I'm sure I'm not the only one saving the pics to use as reference. Worked most the day on the car. Brought parts back from spray booth, bolted body to frame (had just a few bolts holding it down) and made sure it was sitting nice and straight. Wiped er all down, masked up and sprayed guide coat for final wet sand. We masked up as to not get all the wet sanding mess all over the inside of the car.
