as cool as they are too look at, I really don't think they are great all around driving cars. I had both of them over 100 mph and you kinda felt like you were floating. they were really hard to guage distance on the fronts. the Daytona I bought with 45k original one owner miles on it. the superbird had 60k original one owner miles on it when I bought it. the superbird sold new here in Tulsa.

Chrysler made a few 3/8 scale models of the Charger 500, then played around with the wing design in the wind tunnel. This is the only surviving example.

When we did the Volt it was one "count" reduction in drag for every 5mm reduction in trim height (which we found out accidentally). K

Somebody said this car was rejected when it auditioned for Joe Dirt movie.
Was "too nice" for the role. Anyone have pics or info on the Daytona in Joe Dirt movie ? |

Garage/Barn find in Texas around 2010 or 2011.
Hemi 4speed with original drivetrain. Yellow car, shows some purple on cowl like it might have went plum crazy once, then a full respray with a shabby gold color. Not sure if I have ever even seen a yellow Superbird before . I almost got real serious about a White Superbird with White interior (and a White vinyl top) in '85 or '86 . Was a bench seat column shift auto with 440 6 pack. $8500 damn me , couldn't go for an automatic at that price ... ![]() |

As soon as I saw this picture posted, it reminded me of the 1970 Superbird HO slot car I had.

It is in a museum (a good one, at that, pm me and I'll send you a link to my onedrive account with some pics). Built from a charger and made to look rusty, great story. From what I understand it was purchased from the film company quite reasonably. Supposed to have NOS or actual nose and wing.

![]() I've come to the conclusion that if I sold my T/A's I'm building a Superbird clone. I don't care how I do it, or how people feel about it, I need to own one of these cars!
