This duo had some minor hits, and never attained much popularity, but musicians love them. Eric Clapton played with them, and preferred their music to his band Blind Faith. When George Harrison heard them, he immediately offered them a contract on Apple Records. What many people don't realize was that the album "On Tour With Eric Clapton", which was a Delaney & Bonnie album in 1970, had an incredible band backing them, including Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Leon Russell, Dave Mason, horn players that ended up playing with the Rolling Stones, and other members would form Derek and the Dominoes with Clapton. George Harrison was still a Beatle when this happened (1969-1970), and he ended up going on tour, in a bus, with Delaney & Bonnie, Clapton, and Leon Russell, hitting clubs small venues around England. Harrison still had his super long hair and full beard like on the cover of The Beatles "Abbey Road" LP. He stayed in the background during these shows, happy to be on stage again, happy to play backup, and enjoying being in a band. This was all before The Beatles breakup, and before he recorded his signature "All Things Must Pass" album. Super clear footage of this group, from Copenhagen in Dec, 1969 :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4DbsNsK3jY Mike

I was at an antique store tonight and found a sh!t load of original LPs from the 60s up... for 5 bucks a piece. Bought two I didn't have that are in most excellent condition. "Get The Knack" and a "Christine McVie" solo LP. I haven't seen these two in the new expensive LPs.

OK, a true story from last Sunday. I think I have more weird stuff happen to me than anyone else I know, but after this last experience I was reminded that maybe I need to look in a mirror. In a great little breakfast joint on Flathead Lake last Sunday. Guy at adjacent table kept looking at me. Finally he says: "I don't mean to get in your business, but you look a lot like Ted Nugent". I laughed and mumbled something. Then he said, "No really, you look a lot like Ted Nugent", while looking me square in the eye. It dawned on me in some surreal moment of enlightenment, he thought I WAS Ted Nugent. I then had to ruin his day. Jeez, I could have given an autograph! Why Me? I have witnesses if needed.... Call me The Nuge, I think it was the under the lip hair thing...

![]() Then it was on to the aforementioned Hot Tuna while eating lunch. ![]() After that I was in the mood for something with a little country flavor so I broke out "Doug Sahm and Band" and gave it a listen. Said band including Dr. John, David Bromberg, and Bob Dylan. ![]() After that it was time for a little Todd Rundgren and then the Doors. ![]() ![]() Finally finishing up with a personal favorite of mine which is playing right now. The Strawbs, "Bursting at the Seams". ![]() And that will be it for the day since it will soon be time for bed so I can get to work bright and early tomorrow. I didn't get much accomplished today except listen to a lot of good music but hey, that's kinda what Sundays are for, right?
