Well over 100 passes on the last set. Changed them late last fall along with a very light head cleanup. No issues since. Straight surfaces, Cometics and spot on tune is the key.

Bingo... obviously you keep a comfortable distance from the egde of detonation/pre-ignition. Obviously more to it than just tune when it comes to the mechanics of it, but tune is a huge factor.
I'll add its not just gaskets you hurt, that tune can save or hurt things below the pistons.
Certainly not an E-head only issue.
