I will answer #3 The bumper sticker style "TRANS AM" decals were used 73 - late 75. After that they became stencil cut individual letters in the same font. This continued into 78. In late 78 the new font was introduced. I had a March build 78 that had the new font. I had friends who had early 78s that had the previous font.

...but fugly as sin...I recall ordering blue decals for my 1976 birdless charcoal decal equipped TRANS AM as what was going to be the first of several changes...when we went to install them I was like I can not use these, they have that clear border..suffice to say they did not go on...wasn't the clear backing gone by 1975 and you should have been able to get 1975 blue stencil cut....?
