Quick question GW. I noticed the center caps on your Rally II wheels on the last photo you posted are red with black PMD letters and not black with red PMD letters. Do the wheels on the car actually go on a 70 model and your 69 ones are being restored? This is not the first time I have seen red with black PMD letters on center caps used on a 69 car, and is the reason I am asking. I thought black with red letters was used on 68/69 and red with black letters was used on mid 70 model cars.

Long weekend painting the car, FINALLY! Things went real well. Went thru about 1.75 sprayable gallons of the DBC and a gallon and a half of clear. All parts got 3 coats base and 2 coats clear.
We cut the body and 're-coated with two coats clear. The rest of the parts will get the same treatment after we get them installed. We are waiting to do the other parts just incase we chip or scratch anything during assembly.
This car is not going to be cut and buffed it is going to be left with some peel in it.

Got the doors on. Mike had them looking perfect it short order. He likes to remind me there is probably a better body guy out there, he's just not here!
Screwin the engine together soon, waiting on the Crane rockers so I can measure for pushrods then set it frame rails. Then we can install the front clip.
Trying to get this thing to Seattle next year for the Natties.

Welded these studs on to my ARP head bolts so I can still use my heat riser on the exhaust manifold and ground strap from battery.
Put on heads and torqued down. Coming along, just slowly as usual.

Crower solid roller bushed lifters (no bearings) installed.

Crower Endura rockers installed. Lash set at .006 intake and .007 exhaust per Dave Bishop.

Ended up using Bill Hirsch engine enamel. It's a little less vibrant then the Plastikote from rattle cans. I think the quart was about $40. Could do 4 or more engines with the quart.
