Been abit since ive posted updates. Tail panel trim on. Front harness installed. Grill inserts restored (matt i used the krylon dull gray). They turned out great. Pulled all the HD cooling parts from the driver, have restored them and should be finished installing tomorrow.

Doesnt seem possible its been a month since i posted updates. Down to the tedious work of finish work.... trim... interior... engine compartment detail... fixing problems... and then deciding to install an aftermarket sound system while maintaining a stock appearance. Dont laugh. Im usng an ipod nano with fm tuner as a head unit accessible from the center console. More to come soon...

Bob, Looking great, Is the driver out of commission now that you stole the cooling system? I was looking at your latest pictures, can't wait to see it. I went to a Route 66 cruise-in here up here, this afternoon and evening , I took my White 62 Grand Prix

I was going to go on the power tour on the first two legs, but wife couldn't go and din't want to go by myself. I will probably have to go to Ohio to the Aimes Nationals, cause my wife can't go there either, I have never been there but want to go this year.

Been several months since ive posted about my resto project. Well lots of setbacks and car will not be on the road this year. Getting sent off wednesday for exhaust and alignment and we're planning for an initial startup next wednesday. Wasted three months getting the new driveshaft right and the door panels have come back out. Pui uses the wrong weather strip and they simply fit too tight to the windows. Once they are replaced with those from my cat whiskers kit, a reinstall and seats will complete the project. As you can see from pic keystone got my bumper straightened as well. It had a 1/2" twist from ds to ps side. Try taking that out with the bumper brackets. nfw

Geez.. the gift that keeps on giving. take a look at what happened tonight while torqueing my P/S LB elbow to 25lb. it was at 20 when I decided to bring it within spec (25-35). Now what? 88.00 for a fabcraft repro or ditch them and go with RARE's LB1's? I wanted to keep this looking relatively stock and open up the exhaust in a couple years after a few shows.

Just told my wife better it happened to me than at the shop. The dude would've been beside himself if he had done it. it must have had a hairline crack in it. 20ft/lbs is nothing with that sized bolt and I'm sure it would've leaked. what a bummer. a ceramic coated original part. perhaps I'm not the first. why else is fabcraft selling them.

fabcraft got me my manifold elbow late last week so i was able to get my exhaust installed and front end aligned this tuesday. Shop did an incredible job on exhaust. Nice gradual bends and stepped up from 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" just past the dumps. We stayed above the trans xmbr and as a result couldnt install the xpipe so i had him put an H-pipe on it. Buddies showed up tuesday nite so we decided to bring it to life. No issues other than a leak on the p/s pressure side at the box. Its degreed at 35 all in at 2300 (weak springs) and no ping but will step up to some stiffer springs. Top end is very quiet after 40 minute initial run. Carbs restored by jon havens were nuts on. No adjustments required. Tranny is difficult to shift but expected for the 200 mile breakin. Drove it 10 miles yesterday. Brakes good. No hesitation whatsoever and it is pulling hard. Oh yeh. Nice lopey idle but the dynomax turbos are doing their job. No drone and pretty quiet at idle. Got an issue with the clutch so will have time this winter to research and resolve. Acts like it needs a heavy duty return spring. Overall? Bob is a happy camper...

Derringer at 6th and south grand. He spent a good four hours on it. No pics of tips but they are turning down and away like the factory pipes on my driver. May try to get it out for a few more laps if the weather and roads hold out. Feels so good to be back on the road with it after 29 years. Only difference... it drives like a new car.
