With the same HP per pound and limited traction the lighter car has a big advantage in my opinion.

Lighter car will always be better.......takes less HP to go quick also less breakage BUT a more streetable looking car with more HP would be WAY cooler!

But the crazy part is that Pro mods are making it for a full 5 days and 1000+ miles on Dragweek. So what's a street car? With a cooling system, Big Chief could likely cruise the Crowmod nearly anywhere.

I feel if you do not have a tranny tunnel, wipers, and heat/defrosters it's not a street car, its a race car on the street.
Those guys are in a different class than most though.
I am friends with Glen Hunter (red 56 Chevy, twin turbos this year) he drives that thing everywhere, even into Manhattan!! Car ran 7.80 this year, he will be faster next year. He is all over Long Island with it.

I can cruise my car too BUT that don't make it a street car!
