PAINT SPECIAL is how it shows up. so is that special order or what????

Maybe I wasn't clear.

When you say that Orbit Orange was a special-order color in 1971, are you specifically suggesting that Pontiac made Orbit Orange available as a special-order color?

Or are you suggesting that a customer could go to a dealership and say, "I want that bright orange color from last year but you aren't offering it - what can I do?"

You still aint!

My guess here is you're looking for that "special" opportunity to school all of us on this paint color option based on something you pulled from the Pontiac Archives. When what you don't realize is that the guy you intend to school owns at least one of these here special-order colored cars that some customer walked into the dealership asking about.

Now, lets have the semantics lesson.
