This car was owed by a friend I grew up with, I had many hours behind the wheel. Changed hands a few times and did a cameo in a movie that was filmed around town. Wish I knew where it ended up havn't seen it in 20 years.
Candlelite Cream 4 speed post car, we called it the Yellow Goat.

Here's an old ad for a speed shop, and a few speed shop photo......

This photo (below) is Don Garlits Speed Shop in Florida, circa 1971. That's the man himself behind the counter.

Yes, that's definitely Don behind the counter. There's no mistaking those sideburns and that trademark profile.

On a family vacation to Wally World, we stopped at his speed shop around this time. I was very young, but I knew who he was because both of my older brothers were into drag racing. Don actually thought I was a good kid because I called him "that Swamp Rat guy". He asked me if I wanted an autographed 8x10 photo of him, or a record album. I graciously accepted the record album, which I still have to this day.

Gee... I don't see Don in that picture. When I first met him in 1961 he appeared older than the guy in that photo.
