I here you Tom, you're just going to have to wait until my schedule allows. I'm not retired like you LOL. I still have to make hay to pay for all of this. I will get it done, just not on anyone else's schedule but mine.

Don,because I bleed RA V im going to make you a offer!I have a pretty fresh 455 sitting in my garage gathering dust.I was going to send it to Joe Sherman to do a cam swap and a oil system upgrade as I wanted to do some autocross. If you have a set of 65 CC heads and valves stock with no porting and a intake with a single 4 and a 2-4 square bore top and send them to Joe,I will buy a cam and kit and it have Joe put it together and will dyno it with both combos on my check book.I will pay shipping both ways. The engine has a forged crank, rods and pistons an has been on Joes dyno before. Will need to borrow a set of headers or pull mine off my bird.It will be a 10.25 comp street engine with a cam in the 240s and 600 ish lift.Tom

Tom, I'll play, but it's my football my rules. I will provide you with a set of heads ready to run and an intake with 2 tops like you request, but I have certain guide lines I want to adhere to. We can discuss those off line, and then you or I can share the details after we come to an agreement if you would like. I would love to have an old dog like yourself with years of RA5 experience under his belt perform these test's. There are only a hand full of people I would even consider doing this with, and you being one of them. This could be a Win Win for everyone including the Pontiac enthusiast thinking about purchasing a set of my heads.

Let's talk !!!!!

Default Coating For The Plates

Don,

I can offer you a solution for coating the plates. It will only cost you the shipping to get them to me. Give me a call or text at 708-921-5423 if you are interested. We can post up the information if it works out.

Darren, You're a maniac LOL !!!!! I love it though. Next thing I know I get a brand new aluminum block delivered to the shop. I thought we were just building a mild 650 HP pump gas street combo. We can definitely go this route though and I like the way your thinking. Got your block today and looks really good. This is going to be an awesome build for sure. All aluminum RA5 way cool !!!!!!

Don, while I don't race, I'm interested in the pump gas street engine. Just picked up a '59 389 block to build the 440ci for my Catalina. A set of RAV heads on a street engine would definitely NOT be "going with the flow"!

I like the way your thinking !!!!! Keep in mind though that we need a 4.150" bore. You could make them work on a smaller bore with a smaller exhaust valve too. If you use a 1.65" instead of 1.68" valve. For a street application and even most race applications this will not hurt performance. The intake valve is moved far enough away that it will clear even with a 2.25" valve on a smaller bore.

4.75" stroke...........I like, pretty impressive. Most people go small stroke.
