That looks more like "paint repair" at the end of the final line. I don't imagine they ran one high content car immediately after another because of work load balance requirements on the regular line.

Although: that could be how they painted each special paint car (on the repair line).

When we did the 2011 Volt the roof and decklid were painted black and each car made a second pass through the paint shop just for that two tone operation.

We took that out in 2012 and saved some money, both time and material (and some aggravation).

Weird though that the car behind it is masked off the same way. Thas a really surprising picture even if it is touch up
