It's looking real good. I have one question I hope you can give me an answer for. I have always been told not to use teflon tape to seal gas fittings. Have I been mislead or is that another type tape in your picture?

Nope that's Teflon tape. I'm not aware of any issues using Teflon tape but ive been wrong plenty of times before. What should I be using to seal the threads? What's the issue with Teflon tape?
