The block in the car now is a 1970 455, casting #9789140, dated L189. It's a YH code. According to Pete McCarthy's book, it should have 4-bolt mains, but I have been told that is not always the case. I have not decided what to do about the block, whether to find a correct WC code or to go with an SR block. The car runs really well, so I am in no hurry. There was an NOS 1972 455HO block on racing junkie recently which would have been perfect for my car, but someone else grabbed it before I saw it.
