The ME163 was a flying deathtrap. It killed more pilots in training and landing accidents than combat losses. Nasty machine...utilized hypergolic fuels that would dissolve flesh upon contact.

It is important to understand that the United States from a economic and manufacturing standpoint are in the same position Germany was in those days.

In the case of Germany and what very little help from the other axis powers was, and Germany only the size of Montana, had little hope of winning a three front war. Still, if there hadn't been the war, it would have taken another ten years to have gotten to the Moon, among many other things our military and the Russians military take for granted today.
