Thanks again for sharing your process. I recovered OK, and it turned out better than I expected. Not perfect, but that's on me, not on the process.. I'm happy with it !! I think my problem was condensation and not surface prep, but whatever, all the SEM stuff worked well and the underlying black seems stuck well. The 3M vinyl masking tape worked really well, sticking through all the solvent and prep and still leaving decent edges. |

I need to do this on the center buttons on my gauge cluster. The one in middle of idiot lights is peeled badly. The one on my speedo needle is not quite as bad.
Anyone ever done this for those little buttons? What about center AC vent in dash? I may give it a try, have nothing to lose. Tempest, you did excellent work! That looks amazingly reflective. What specific black paint did you use? I had trouble with the black when I did my bezel. |

I just used a high gloss black paint made for plastic...nothing special.
I will see if I can find the can. |
