Hello -
I'm new here...just picked up a 73 Grand Ville Vert as something for my son and I to work on and for the family to enjoy on the weekends. I look forward to lurking around the forum gaining knowledge and hopefully contributing where I can. With my first post I do have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. I had a gas leak recently coming out of this mystery piece attached to my fuel line. The bowl was filling with gas and spilling over. I took it out and just connected the two pieces of hose with a brass 3/8 connector. That stopped the leak, but if this piece has a purpose then I obviously want to get it replaced. Any information would be appreciated. Many thanks! |

That is the fuel line accumulator. GM put them on the v8s with return lines in 1973 to prevent fuel hammers, but in reality they leaked pretty easily so were recalled. Most cars you see don't have them. It's a conversation piece now more than anything.

Many thanks Ben! I think I'll use it as a paper weight.
