That Pontiac as well as many others were customized by
Nudie Cohen. The same guy who did the Nudie boots/clothes and hats. https://selvedgeyard.com/2009/12/22/...estone-cowboy/

Is this a case of car abuse, or child abuse?
![]() Hopefully, this car wash didn't have one of those horizontal rollers that went over the top of the car too, or those kids are in for a surprise. ![]()

This should have been used as an album cover. I'd like to have ridden shotgun with Mr. Mojo snatchin' gears in a 440:

It was until shortly after new, my mom blew it up on the NJ Turnpike while dad was in the Chilean jungle. Then it got a 1600 in it. We had a German mechanic who worked out of his garage, Victor Lyschik. He, along with 7 other Germans, escaped on foot from a Siberian prison. 3 of them survived & reached Germany long after the war ended, not knowing it was over. That man could fix anything. His wife would always have candy there for me when we came to pick up. It became my first car. I sold it in '82 for $400 with about 180k on it and no floor pans to speak of.

We lived in Harrington Park (bergen Co.). The mechanic was in Closter IIRC. This was in the mid 60's to early 70s. Hungarian pilots were supposedly some of the best.

I bought a 65 111 "A" Sedan ( standard model not imported to U.S.) in August of 68 and still have it;

Amazing that you were able to keep it. I have never seen one on this coast that did not have the heater boxes and floor sections totally gone. When I would put on the brakes in the rain, a wave would always roll up to the "firewall". Ours had a sunroof and AM/FM Blaupunkt radio. Luxury model buddy. On trips, I used to ride in the well of that car and snooze on the scratchy horsehair carpet back there.
