My brother's '65 GTO came from Pontiac with a 4 speed and 3:90:1 rear. The rpm's never bothered us, but of course in '65 gas was also much cheaper.
 There is a ST10 trans with 3.29:1 1st 1.72:1 2nd 1:1 3rd 0.8:1 4th Stan
