Here are pics of my 1970 GTO Judge from 1970 and 1971.
My Judge is one of the 288 GTO Judges built in Oshawa Ontario in 1970. It is a Baja Gold, Brown interior, Ram Air III 400, M21 close ratio 4 speed, 3.90 Posi car. Options beyond this are N41 Quick Ratio PS, Power Disc brakes, Hood tach, No dash gauges ,console, RWL Goodyear G70-14 Polyglas Tires ,Console and AM radio, No wheel lip molding car, and standard drivers door mirror. Built to run, sold at Plaza Pontiac in Toronto Ontario. Original owner said he paid $5500 for it in August of 1970. First pic shows the original owner in 1970 ,the young boy who looks 6 or 7 is the same age I was in 1970 so I love this pic. Second pic is from 1970 camping. Pics 3 and 4 are from 1971 all dressed up for a wedding, note the side burns on these guys and how nice and tight the dual exhaust splitters fit the rear valance cutouts.

It was cool, and was a little tempting to save, but it was very rough around the edges and although some paint work was done very nicely , Some of it was very amateur and in very poor condition . If I want a car like that back I would recreate it on a base gto.
Hey thanks for making my pictures larger, I wish I knew how to do that. Since its just nut and bolt work, I am considering setting myself up with a nice set of 70s era wheels and air shocks again like on the 69 pictured. Just to fill a void in my soul. Of course I will share the results. |
