I think there is a huge disparity in opinions on price based on what you own, and what you have owned. For a guy that's owned half a dozen pristine GTOs this is a roach. For a guy that wants to start with something other than a body shell from a salvage yard this is a good start. Heck you can hardly buy a decent riding mower for $6,000.

Rolling "junk" GTOs are just not that common anymore. For a guy with a few thousand to start, and 3 or 4 grand a year to work with this would be a good project. For a 60 year old guy with 50k of disposable ... not so much.

Also depends a lot on your situation ... for a guy living in a quiet suburban neighborhood with a small box of craftsman tools .... not so much. For guy in the country with welders, a lift, sand blaster, painting equipment, some machine tools .... whole lot cheaper to get things done.

Still ... 6,000 seems a bit high .... more like $4500-5000 assuming no frame rot, no roof rot etc.
