Just kind of looked like it had an indian head on the hood.

Not sure the back end looks the same though.

Was the '38 a six or straight-eight? The GM straight-eights of the thirties were truly torque monsters. I had them in a '36 Olds and a '37 Buick, and helped a friend get one running in his '34 Pontiac. All of those cars would lay rubber from a standstill in 2nd gear! Of course the only tires we had were rock-hard rubber...

Thirties , forties, and 50's up to 1956 wore Indians and silver streaks.

Chevrolet never had a straight eight, only Olds, Pontiac, LaSalle, Buick. Of the four only the Buick straight eight was OHV. Chevrolet six was also OHV.

Jim- I've always like the convertible coupe styling of the '41 Ford/Merc, sans rear side windows. (Almost as much I admire the '40 Merc fixed-head coupe, with its unique "formal" roof style).
