That said, I did an aftermarket antenna like that in my 1992 Trans Am back like 13 years ago when I replaced the windshield. It for sure was not nearly as strong reception as a good old fashioned type antenna. I'd say it reduced the range by about a third. I'll be keeping the rear power antenna on my 69 just for this reason even though I haven't listened to FM in years now.
