At my boost KRE's dyno had my engine at just over 1,000 hp............ in 90 degree temps at almost 3,200 lbs it ran 8.22. At Norwalk with a slipping trans and 85 degree temps I ran high teens - low 20's point being that No two dynos read the same period! Tom, when I talk to Chris at the Autorama ill be sure to mention that you think his Dyno is off! LOL!!

I have been at Chris Holbrook's dyno for testing and he was the one who told me he was testing Mike's stuff the last time I talked to him, at the shop, before Norwalk. Chris Holbrook also tested the CV-1 engine that went into the Ford Mustang years ago. I was there for that testing too.

So how much horsepower is an engine making if it propels a 3000 lb car to a 171 mph quarter mile trap speed ?

From Langer:

It won't... you need around 460-480 cfm to make 1200 hp na on a 565" Pontiac. I can say I have a dyno sheet that says I make 1500hp but if I don't run the number did I really make 1500 hp?

Run 34 degrees of timing, launch at 7400, shift at 8700 and trap at 9000.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I had no idea. My refrence was to the valvetrain of the engine. Sounds like a spring eater. But then again what do I know anyway.
