I'm 54 and very lucky that my Dad worked for Pontiac Motor Division as a district sales manager when I was a kid. I grew up riding in GTO's, Grand Prix's, Firebirds and the occasional Lemans or Bonneville. I bought my first GTO at 19 years old in 1982. I traded a 77 Vega and $500 for a 1970 GTO with a spoiler and judge emblem on the glove box. I loved that car and wanted to find out more about it so my Dad gave me a name and number to call in Michigan. He said they could look up the invoice for me. It turned out to be 1970 Ram Air IV automatic Orbit orange with black interior. The drive train was long gone and replaced with a 72 GP 400. The Ram Air stuff was all gone except the pull cable bracket and open scoops. I sold it to help pay for an all original Ram Air III 69 Judge.

I would say this shows close to 80% of owners are in thier forties.and older. For us that just drive them for the love and great memories that's fine and you have what you want.I would also add that for people holding on to cars or parts hoping for big upside it not going to happen. Money will always be there for the special ones but IMO big price drops down the road How long is the question. Doug

I still have mine because I like it,,,dont care if the value goes up or down. Most of us have our pontiacs as play/secondary cars.We can afford to have it sit in the garage and use it when we want to. Most young people use their cars as daily drivers as its the only car they have,,so they modify them and drive them every day. Kinda like we did with our GTO's and firebirds. Mine will probably get passed on to one of my kids if they want it.

Just like Model A's, 40 Fords, 55 Chevrolet's, 62 Impala's, 70 Chevelle's, etc. Most are lucky you can buy parts for these cars, try that for a 58 Buick, or 64 Cadillac, etc. The crowd that loves those cars are dying off, and the value going down, because these young guys dont want them, dont know how to work on them, parts getting hard/impossible to find. Most mechanical parts are easy, but finding the small parts and interior parts is what gets you. Some want to relive their youth, and that's all fine, but the retiring people today had really BORING cars back then. I graduated HS 1980, a few got new Camaro's for gifts, but there wasn't many cars to be excited about. I drove a 56 3100 Chevy Truck then traded it for a 67 GTO, I bought my 68 Firebird in 1985 and everyone thought i was stupid for getting a old car.

got to update its now 90 percent or more are forty years old or more . I knew the average would be high but this is really a run away. Doug
