I was glad that The Chief was able to get back to his original car 'Roots" in a way that made him happy. Don't think he was ever really happy with the CrowMod (firebird) as he was always a A-Body Guy. First car I believe Chief owned was that 72 Lemans.

ps Marty owned a Buick Turbo Car at one point, was not his deal. Took some convincing by Tom Earhart and I that Turbos WAS the future. Once he was committed, he went in a big way.

It might be a few pounds over 3,000. I haven't weighed it in its current configuration. When I had the "cowcatcher" on the front, it weighed 3040# with me in it.

It has no carbon fiber, but fiberglass front end, doors, hood, deck lid and rear valance panel and bumpers and Lexan windows all around. But, I run two batteries and have a mild steel chassis and cage and a cast iron IAII block.

It was a Boosted Car, I like watching Boosted 7 second or faster cars.

I don't need to drive a 7 second car or try for 10+ years to run 7s. That was your goal.
You have a different goal so best of luck with getting into the club before you die.

Your success rate up to this point has not been as well as you expected obviously.
Maybe if you sell your 8-71 and get a new supercharger maybe you can at some
point achieve your personal goal. I personally have other goals in life.

That is probably the safest bet you will ever post on the PY Board as that deal is never going to happen. I would rather eat a pound of ice cream vs wasting a second of my time on that deal which would prove nothing. Mike already proved George was full of Hot Air, why should I duplicate that effort. And anyway I am not a Drag Racer, have not been one since the 70s. Most here were in diapers then.

I went to Norwalk last year for two reasons: (First time in 5 years).
To pick up a IA-2 aluminum block David Butler had for me and to talk to Jim Robertson in person, and the Old Super Stock Guys Joe Z and Larry K..
I sat in the stand with the other 10 people and watched the cars make their passes.

I did get a chance to spend some time talking to Mike Leech at the staging lane.
Very glad I was able to do that since his untimely passing later on.

Drag Race with George. I would not spend a dime of my money on that deal.
Why spend money on a something you could give squat about. Tried to help George over the years, like Marty, Charlie, and others.
Wasted effort so why would I waste a second of my time on him preparing a drag car. Leech already proved that his NA car was faster than George's Supercharged roller skate.

7's huh.........never said my life dream was to run 7's, I race to go rounds. Some racers need to run in 40-50 degree temps to go quick....I don't. My success rate is prettty damn good my car is QUICK, GOES ROUNDS, hardly ever break (all race cars break at one time or another) and sneaks in a win once and a while, life is GOOD! LMAO!
