Would that be "Jungle Jim" Liberman driving in that shot?

Had to laugh when I saw this photo -
"Jungle" is wearing a "Chuck Poole's Chuckwagon" T shirt. That's kind of an unwritten rule among the guys I hang out with. Rather than wearing a T shirt with our own name or graphics we wear shirt's emblazoned with our buddies' (or competitors) cars and logos. K

Cool, it looks like that car was sponsored by Larry Hopkins Pontiac. They were in Sunnyvale CA for a long time. I served my apprenticeship next door at the Lincoln Mercury Dealer.

It appears that's a picture of Brutus following the change from Pontiac M/T hemi to a Chrysler hemi.

love the vintage pics. so cool to see pics from the time period.
this is my uncle after he bought my dad's '67 GTO 'vert, 4 speed in linden green/black/black. never had the chance to get it myself, unfortunately. i used to sit in it all the time when it sat in my grandparent's driveway. pic is likely '71-72 time frame. i still remember every little detail about that car.

Actually the one car Jim referred to was a hardtop and the cat got upset when they closed the doors with the widows up, then the cat preceded to shred the entire interior.

That show car could have been a soft window car. Porsche had a soft window production Targa in those years. |

Is it a Pontiac or an Olds Cutlass Supreme? I hauled both out of Canada back then. I see it has T-tops so it could have been a one-off with a Targa style rear window. None that I know of ever came out of the GM Plant in St. Therese with the rear window area like this one has. If it was built in St. Therese none of us ever saw it. It could have been reworked in a custom shop and under cover sent on to the auto show.
I did a web search and it is an '80 Grand Prix. As a side note..... believe it or not you could get a 1980 GP with a standard transmission. I did deliver a few back then. They'd be a rare car to have today. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q...04&FORM=IQFRBA Right side near bottom of the page.... red interior.
