Mike,

I can respect that you are protecting the identity of the other owners and what they own. Could you however update the totals of "known" auto's and 4spds for us? For example, in addition to what has been posted, you know of 2 additional autos and 4 additional 4spds?

Thanks

More PHS stuff...Here is the PHS letter with the handwritten note indicating RAII. Other attachment shows RAII production began 5/20/68. When I got the car all the good stuff was gone. Even the tach had been ripped out. None of the rally gauges worked. The hole for the radio in the dash and the dash bezel looked like someone had used a chainsaw. The wiring was all hacked up. I was looking for a project and definitely found one.
Shoot...The interior pic was right side up when I uploaded it!

My car is an 05C tag, Pontiac built car delivered to Marte Pontiac in Columbus, Ohio.

What are your plans? Find all the correct parts or just enjoy it the way it is now?

It's only been back on the road for the past 2 yrs. I'll keep doing little things here and there, but will drive it as is for the time being. The steering box and PS pump are out being rebuilt right now. It has a strange vibration when cruising on the highway that I need to figure out.

I think this might be the same car that belongs to forum member NOPLNDN. BHC included in post #314. Would likely be car #19 on the list if BVZ is still updating the list.

I'd agree.

It has Dix Pontiac as dealer. Can't imagine 2 April Gold RA II's sold there?
(around same date)

Looked to be a good project.

I attended the Cruising Tigers show in St. Charles IL last month. In the building was an original family owed 68 Ram Air II GTO convertible 4-speed. The car was white with a black interior and top. The story was the original owner did some racing with it and blew the original motor. Car was in storage for a long time. He died a few years ago and car was given to his daughter and husband. They didn't really know anything about it but they said her dad kept telling them that car was special and came from the factory with an experimental engine. Their friend who knew a little about cars mention they should get the PHS on it given what their dad said and that it had the 4.33 gears. Car came back a real RAII. A resto was just finished on the car literally days before this show so they could unveil it. Neat car and story.

They are interested in learning more about these cars. I did point them to this site and this thread but haven't seen where they have joined yet. I am sure others on this board were there and saw it as well...surprised no one else mentioned it.

Cool.

That probably means it's not on the list.

Would be good to get some more added.

While at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals 2017 I had the pleasure of meeting several GTO enthusiast who were interested in the RA II GTO's. I also met the brother in law of the RA II GTO Convertible that 68Bird400HO talked about. I have also talked to someone who claims to have a Blue with white top and interior convertible. With that in mind, there may be 5 total RAII convertibles. Rob's April Gold automatic, the black unrestored, my Flambeau Burgundy, Carl's White and maybe a Blue one.

My Verdoro Green-Black interior-Black top-4 speed is a convertible. #18 on the list I think....

According to a recent correspondence with J Mattison, he is only aware of 5 convertible GTO deuces....the same 5 that are already identified in BVZ's list.

I saw Jim at the show but we did not talk about the amount of RA II convertibles specifically. How long ago did you speak the Jim?
