Lacquer is very expensive because of the government fees but I still use it on interior trim parts and some under hood parts if were going for a "best of". On the Brewster 73 the air cleaner and such parts are painted in gloss black lacquer just like factory instead of the too glossy or too fat bc/cc or single stage enamel. gloss black lacquer doesn't exactly come out gloss black when sprayed properly, it has a slight haze to it till you buff it so I just make sure those parts are as perfect as we can get them, dirt free and leave the haze.

D&R used to make a details lacquer in black, it has acrylic, but worked well... spray bomb too !
