Finally put on some street miles today.Oil temp sits right at 210 when engine is fully warmed,so I'm pretty happy with that with a hardblock shortblock.I never got on it hard today was more concerned about a nice break in seating the rings up and down on the throttle.I'm going to put on a few more miles change the bronze dist gear to the polymer. At the same time doing a oil change and cutting the filter open.I'm still fine tuning the new engine for the street.
Two products that I will always use are the BOP one piece oil pan gasket ..no leaks or minor weeps and Remflex gaskets that sealed my crappy warped headers.

I know it has probably been stated SOMEWHERE in the previous 600-something replies, but which crappy warped headers are you running? ;-)

1 3/4 Hooker Super Comps. The reason they are crappy is I cut the flanges between the ports and I've had a couple tubes just twist slightly. They are a pain to put on..but are sealed up nice with the Remflex gasket.I did a port match on the header openings a few years back also.

I must be getting old or something! I guess it comes down to having the street tune perfect first, plus double checking the car over again.

On the dyno our engines get 5min of warm and checks and then let her rip. On the track (our race cars) get 1 easy pass (half throttle or so) then let her rip.
