i was wondering which type of adapter your using. the one I had, placed the primaries right over the divider of the intake, between the primary and secondary. then I saw one that the primaries were tapered to the primary hole and missed the divider all together.

It’s the one you use to adapt the square bore to a spreadbore intake or flip it over and adapts a quadrajet to a square bore intake.
