I have to admit that although I never knew Glenn personally, and have only met a few PY members in the flesh, I find it interesting how "wrapped up" or "entangled", or strangely, "emotionally" invested (at some level) I can get reading some of the post within this forum and even within the the GP pages too. Indeed, the stories of the individuals who owned and own these cars is an integral part of our hobby and community.

Glenn's therapy was his cherished Lucy Blue '72. I appreciated the photo's he shared as I'm about 75% done putting my father's '72 TA back together. Glenn and a whole bunch of you have been instrumental in helping me get to this point - A simply "thank-you" doesn't seem to do justice to those who freely share their intellectual know-how, but never-the-less, a "Thank-you" is all that can be offered. I could not do it without your help.

I think it's a nice gesture that the new owner's of Glenn's "companion" have considered to post their progress of the car's restoration within this thread.

Scratch the last post. We jumped the gun forsay. All is good now and the shaker assembly will be reunited with the car so one less task to worry about and we can move on to more good stuff soon.

I said it before and will say it again.

I would have grabbed that complete running 72 TA LB with Black deluxe guts for 15k and made some good money selling it after paint and tweaking. That's ,even before I knew it was Glenn's old car too.

Not sure what you and your buds plans are for car. But, a even better price than expected and the gifts keep coming is a great start...I might be a little jealous, but deals never fall in my lap.

The car was a deal and so far luckily things seem to be falling into place. My buddy had been looking for a 2nd gen TA in blue because he loved a blue 79 I had in High School. I actually helped him find the car, and obviously it checked out for him when seen in person . The price was negotiated and he was able to purchase it. He and I have an agreement that I will help him wherever I can as far as parts, labor, etc to get the car together and correct as possible and if he ever wants to sell it I have first dibs for the amount of money he has in it, or he can sell and we split the profit, though I probably would buy it for myself if it came to that. And of course I get to drive it any time I want and plan to do as much as I can to keep his cost down on the car for obvious reasons lol.

One last task I had to do before stripping the fenders to bare metal and fixing a few small dings was weld up the extra holes for 79-81 flares. I know that the holes are not seen from the exterior once the flares are on but I figured since I changed all of the bracing I should weld up the extra non correct holes. I cut a few round plugs from a old parts fender and placed a magnet on the fender from behind then placed the plugs into the holes against the magnet. I welded up and ground off the excess weld

Epoxy is down on the top of the hood and will be ready to block sand. Next step will be to start bolting the front end on to refit everything then start on the doors and quarters and epoxy them. I will then block sand the and fix any remaining issues found then reprimer and block again
