I agree with Jerry, the only belt I ever had break was oil soaked from a bad front main oil seal (that was caused by the rings that failed in the #1 Cylinder) I was driving the car from San Diego CA to Michigan when the oil seal failed I had to add 2 qts of oil to the engine every time I stopped to fill up with gas. And when it broke it was not catastrophic as these are not interference engines in stock form.
I have seen the belts last 30+ years and over 100,000 miles. Glad to hear Jerry has a supply of new Belts, it is probably were Kanter gets them from.
