Been thinking of buying a 69 ra4 Gto. Have found a couple, passed on one that was just basically a shell. Found another 4 speed car. Does anybody ever see any of these trade hands? Realize colors are usually bad.Trying to figure value. Any good leads?

John, they should be a good buy as they seem to trade lower than RA III Judges. Those two heavily restored 70's can't get 6 figures and there was that Voodoo green 69 auto that was available for ever in the 50's up in Canada.
Would be a perfect car for pure stock!

You - shouldn't have sold your black one! (Sorry - I couldn't resist!)
I know that you're trying to run a business. When I was discussing your old car with the place that has it now, I could only reference 70s for price comparisons. Cruise-in season is approaching; if I hear of anything I will let you know. |

That was Paul's car. If I am going to give up my 67, I want an original ra4 car. I figure value is just short of similar ra3 Judge. I have had Judges, but prefer a base GTO with 4,4 speed, and 4.33,s.

Understood John - I never differentiate who owns/owned what between you and Paul.
WW block preferred, I'm sure! |

Did you guys see this car or know of this car? I would think Larry would know of it since it is on the north side by Butler?
https://www.racingjunk.com/Pontiac/1...=0&from=search Were the IV cars always odd colors and weird options because they were intended for racing or going fast? Sounds like a neat car with a bench seat and a four speed. |

I've never seen that color before.
I know a small percentage of the RAIV were ordered specifically to race .. usually bare bones except for performance options. Some old school racers might have preferred bench seats, buckets of course were standard, don't know if you got a delete credit for the bench. You will see them sometimes with no AC, no power steering, AM radio (or delete), manual tranny, no tint .. basically no luxury options at all. |

I like Expresso brown 69 GTO's, that would have been a neat car. Did you get the PHS on it ,if so what is the cars option load? Keep in touch with seller, chances are the guy he sold it to will flake out on the deal.

I really hate the c@(k su($&rs that when they find out it is sold they start offering more money on the car. I can truthfully say I have never done that.
what was the guys name who owned it? everybody should send him an email telling him what a loser he is. |

wasn't enticing enough to me. When he landed in Salt Lake City late morning to meet the seller, he was informed the car was sold the night before. Within a year I found him another one owner 'Bird in much better condition for close to the same money. Moral is, maybe it's for the best........ As to the color, I've seen Schornack's Expresso V '69 and really liked it. |

Yepper, been there. 2009.
I was in long contact with a guy who lived very close by, near my neighborhood with a stock, cameo white, black interior 1970 TA, RAIV 4-speed in St. Pete FL for about 15 years...which he stashed away in his chicken coup in about 74 with a broken motor after it was mildly, street raced locally. Dropped a valve and was re-sleeved, and never brought out after that again. He also had a Lucy, 70 ta that was heavily modified for race with his dad's company support...including decals of the company on the flanks. I told him that I was only interested in the RAIV car which he was cool with. It had 19K original miles on it. I still have the PHS on the RAIV car. After bugging him for 15+ years, he was ready to sell after a bitter divorce. We agreed to what I believed was a righteous price at the time and he agreed. I went to his place 1 week later after securing the $ and there was some other fat cat there looking over the car...never heard from him again. Interesting enough, I was at the TA Nats last Aug and there was, I believe, the same car going through tech inspection, which had been restored...as my local buddy told me, who was also aware of this particular elusive car, that I had been dreaming of. I ran down to the inspection area and he was long gone, and did not enter the car at the show. I can only assume this guy offered him some amount of cash over our agreement and he sold it to him against our verbal agreement as a close by neighbor. Does any body know where this car ever ended up? I have not heard of it since. I shared the VIN with Erik V. |

I have been offered more money on a car after I had made a deal before, but never have taken it. Was really excited to get this car. It was a dog dish, 4 speed, tach, guages, 4.33 car. I will keep looking for a ra4, or a 67 ra1. Don't really want a done car. Like to do it myself. Ok,,,,, done crying!

I shared the VIN with Erik V.[/QUOTE back in the 90's a guy in florida advertised a 70 ra4 ta in hemmings with an advertised price. I was the first one to call and made a deal for the full price he posted. I next day aired him a cashiers check for the full amount. he received the money and told me it was a done deal. a few days later he told me he was refunding my money and wasn't going thru with the deal. I had a guy on the road on his way to pick it up for me. I was furious but was so busy with projects in 5 states not to mention everything going on locally that I blew it off. I regret not dragging his ass thru the court system over it. not sure where it ever went. would like to know. |

Just to clarify, don't think guy sold car for more money. He said he would hold and give me first shot if I bought a plane ride . I did. Guy seemed nice, just think he should of give me first shot. Anyway, a friend presented another car to me this morning which is better anyways.
