GTO George
Has a year, from the looks of it, not very likely. He just ordered a second block, head combo of the same thing he has run. I believe he will at least get the CV stuff together and do some testing. But to do that and get it in the car, 5 runs withing a year.....
With him getting new bullets of the same caliber as we speak, its a time thing now.
I have always wondered why he did not step up to at least a garden variety E head wide port. If you read what he posted, reliability if first and foremost, power is secondary. WPs have offset rockers and they do break. Non offset stuff is very reliable with simple geometry, tough, reliable. And if he has plenty of power to compete as is I think its tough for him to change. The old engine has brought him where he is today and still running strong as ever.
You can see a part of him likes beating the best of the best with his basic, if you want to call it that, old school Pontiac. He takes great pride in doing so much of the hard stuff, tuning ect himself. I take pride in as doing as much as I can myself.
And you know George, you saying he did not say a lot is somewhat derogatory. He does not post much and it took effort for him to take the time to post and tell us things he does not have to. Thankful he did.
Said plenty and more if you can read between the lines. You even got a mention, of the world without capitol "g".
Right now, same heads, smaller ci. Downgrading it seems.

I actually feel pretty important I suppose!
Heck if I had a dollar for every time I was wrong, I’d retireded an year earlier BUT then again if I had a dollar for every time I was right I’d retired 2 years earlier! LOL! I never not rooted for him....I’m a Pontiac racer, just took the info I had (from the show) and went with it. besides i defended him and Pontiac a bunch of times on Facebook......like I said “Pontiac”!

CV1 Heads are done and will be delivered in person very very soon.(Bill and/or Jim, and I know the date) . Intake is done too.
Smaller likely means less stroke and more rpm. (There are plenty of good reasons...get Quillen's thoughts on that if you don't want to trust me)
Bigger CSA heads means more flow at same boost means more HP.(and yes Bill is a top notch head Porter ask his peers.)
More RPM means more HP.
Valvetrain stability is critical at 9000+ rpm. An offset setup like wideport isn't neutral like cv1.
Anyone thinking cv1 is downgrading in any way needs to look again and quit believing the haters.
