They might get past it one day, but as of now they are equal.
A canted intake valve with PMD exhaust does not make sense. Its sorta like the head is tying one hand behind their back.
BTW, is anyone running the billet CV2. Have not heard of anyone myself.
Nobody has needed the CV2... Convertible exhaust and Jim's cooling deivn in water jacket is adequate. Convertible ex puts heat above center bolt. Biggest advantage to convertible ex is ex fllow at high pressure velocity isn't bouncing back into cylinder.

So what average wideport ehead has gone faster than Fulton at same weight on dot tire?

What do you mean no one has "needed" it ? If its the best of the best there is always a need in racing.
I do not know of any "average" WP running faster. Put a high end set on and =.

BTW, what was his ci with the WP engine and what was it with his CV engine.
I have heard 474 and then 535 ci. True ?? You tell me.
If it is, there is your .01

Before the 535 and it's cv1's were built, he dyno tested a set of CV1's on the 474 against his GABY wideports. He made substantially more power, and that set the notion to build bigger and at Bill's suggestion, they chose a CNC port suitable for what he wanted.
There is a thread/post by Dick of the CV1's vs Gaby wideport. Look it up and read it instead of insinuating someone fibbed. Especially Dick or Bill or myself for that matter.

Bruce, they were not his Gaby wide-port E heads compared to the CV1'S on the 474 dyno comparison you're talking about.

Who's wideport was it then? I didn't memorize it. Std Butler wideport vs STD cv1?
Regardless the cv1 made more power.

It’s a canted valve head vs an inline head. It should!

But it’s not any better then a good set of E heads.

How does a car get #100 heavier from swapping heads?

For all the years they have been out there sure are not a lot of them out there racing.

We'll... swapping from stock block to ia2 would be about right.

There are quite a few out there, many using them and happy vs coming on here and getting insulted.

87 cc E-head converted by Butler to their CNC wideport and then touched up by Knowlton.... starting out life as an 87 cc head, definitely would've held them back a few horsepower compared to a 72cc head. Interesting read though. I believe all involved tried their best.

Here is the link.

Dick Fulton is an intelligent man, and an honest one.

The same cannot be said of the nattering nabobs of negativism and their incessant rant.

It's easy to see why so many supremely competent and smart guys no longer want any part of the a$$holes who infest every thread here.

I'll get "band" if I do that.

Search CV-1 vs Wideport

Sorry, I'm on my cell.
