Since Big Chief is back on here, I would rather hear what his thoughts are and not what everyone thinks he should/would do.

He kinda implied that he has little spare time and reliability is everything. Being #1 on the list is of utmost importance and its a big risk to try something major this season.
IMO, at best the CV will be tested in his short off season.

The expression "Living the Dream" is sort of his life right now it seems. Dedicated hard core high end street racer gets paid big dollars and made famous doing something he was forking out big bucks to do while working a job.
It is his job now, hard to beat that.

Fulton recently won his King Street class at Brainard. Robin's doing a a new car and another cv1 combo...twin turbo's (100+ mm compressor inducers) this time vs n2o
. Quinn and Hooter still running them, there are others. Rob Synker Mike McCarty, Doc, Some nice builds going together too, some very serious.

Still, have not seen anything yet that a good set of E heads can not do. Fulton was 7.71 with a "average" set of wide ports. I believe with a true high end WP he would be a bit quicker and that puts him where he is with CVs. Tenth, tenth and a half.
They might get past it one day, but as of now they are equal.
A canted intake valve with PMD exhaust does not make sense. Its sorta like the head is tying one hand behind their back.
BTW, is anyone running the billet CV2. Have not heard of anyone myself.

Actually he ran .10-.15 quicker at around 100 lbs heavier with the cv-1 heads. That’s a big jump withs a set of heads!

Nobody has needed the CV2... Convertible exhaust and Jim's cooling deivn in water jacket is adequate. Convertible ex puts heat above center bolt. Biggest advantage to convertible ex is ex fllow at high pressure velocity isn't bouncing back into cylinder.

So what average wideport ehead has gone faster than Fulton at same weight on dot tire?

What do you mean no one has "needed" it ? If its the best of the best there is always a need in racing.
I do not know of any "average" WP running faster. Put a high end set on and =.
