The cam Paul K is referring to is a 308H-2.

The 302H-2 is 302 [email protected], 312 242 @.050 112 lsa. Same specs as the mopar you found. If it was a 302H I think then it would be the same on the intake and exhaust. It should also have a date code stamp on the back and a core letter, you should be able to tell when it was ground. You can go look at the specs on their lobe profile catalog as well. The intake profile is listed and the exhuast is listed 10 degrees below it. It if was a more specific grind than the stud hydrualics there would be another grind profile number after the 302.

The specs I listed came out of the Pontiac section in a 1985 Crane Cams catalog. It was the only 302-H I found for a Pontiac. I've also actually used that cam several times.

Straycat found something close but doesn't have the correct specs. The -2 on a Crane cam means dual pattern.

Over the years Crane would update lobes and change the specs slightly and sometimes keep the grind number and part number the same.

Sorry Paul, I see those specs for the 302h-2 you found don’t match the 308h-2 they offer right now. Only the .050 are the same everything else is different. I remember seeing that they had date codes stamped on the back end of the cam but I don’t recall how specific it is. Not even sure if they all have it. Sounds like measure time.

No problem Jay, we're all just trying to help the OP. A picture of the grind number would help make a positive identification. I'm not sure it matters much, regardless of the exact specs it's completely the wrong cam for his application.

Don't disagree with you at all Paul. I was only going to use it because it's what I had. However, I've since obtained a Comp 276AH-10. Should be a lot closer to working well with my combo than the Crane.

I agree H. and understand. I'm glad you found something that was a better choice. That Comp should do well for you.
