Someone has a LOT of money to play with and choose any engine he wants and as long as a Pontiac ends up back between the frame rails it is cool.

But these Prolines, what is the advantage to just buying a big Hemi or something like that ? A Hemi is something that most can relate to, know what brand they are and thus have fans. Are Prolines limited in what classes they can run in ?

Jack,
Years ago I worked on a number of Chrysler Hemi engines. But since I do not have a race car and am not a racer . Could you please explain to DRAGNCHIT the difference between a HEMI and a 481X.

Thanks,
Stan

You wanted a race and Paul K was willing to drive close to half way to race you on the street, for a nice chunk of change. You made all kinds of excuses why you wouldn't/couldn't do it. Now you THINK he runs 10.90's and want to jump all over this race, for a price you balked on earlier?

Not where I was going with it Paul. Purely in terms of raw horsepower. Will the Proline do something the Hemi can not ? Say you need 3,000 HP to do what you want. Why buy the Proline when you can get pretty much any HP number with a Hemi or Brad.Anderson ?
Is it cost, what class you want to run ?
Where is the Prolines place ?

Your car lol. Should run 10.0's in anything. Then you won't have to convert your roll bar into a cage.
You can call it anything you want. It wasn't an oem design. (Closest to some Chev and Ford designs imo)

I'm not sure where you're going, I just answered Stan's question. Both engines have their place and both have pros and cons.... neither are my specialty, so hopefully someone more qualified can answer your questions.

Not where I was going either. What do they have to offer that is any better than Chevy,Ford or Mopar ?
There has to be some reason/advantage to buying one or they would not be in business.
By "place" I mean where they fit in the racing world?
Myself, I would not even think about buying one if I had that kind of coin. Who cares about "Proline" really. They don't make cars so its sort of like a version of a industrial engine but for racing, I think.

You really should use google before you make a post like this. That is how us keyboard racers would have done it if I didn't already know.

Check out AJPE he should be somewhere in your area.

While you were doing internet searches and posting about them I made it to the finals in Super Pro today, again.
And I would rather ask someone who knows more than me on subjects I am looking to learn about. People over computers, well most of the time.

Then I guess you should think about what you are typing before you post.
You said where is their place--- not where is their place in the race engine market.

It's pretty simple- they offer a race ready proven crate engine. They also do allot of high end Ferrari and Lambo engines as well.

And when you say who cares-- their end user cold say who cares about "XYZ"-- (insert your favorite Pontiac engine builder there).
