Then there’s the people with dogs on long leashes that wrap around your front end as the owner is looking in the engine compartment. Or the time I walked away to judge the other car owners, handed in my ballots, and got back to my car to find a woman had put her 3 year old in my car behind the wheel to take a picture. WTH?

FYI, obesity is now a handicap and you can get a doctor to sign off that you're medically handicapped if you're obese.
Do I agree with this? I surely don't, but the do-gooders want every person in America to feel they're a victim and need a nanny state to keep getting bigger and bigger and sucking up more taxes. Our education system, grade school, high school, and college teach this crap to those that they educate Then it turns into accepted politically correctness, that's how obesity got turned into a handicap. The morons at a car show that touch your, car let leashed dogs run around your car, are morons. These people think of cars the same way they view their washer and dryer, appliances that every household has. They just think these are old appliances, and who would be sentimentally attached to an old washer and dryer? It's not theirs, they never keep a car more than 10 years if that, and when they get rid of it it's fit for the scrapyard. They have no love of cars, and it's painfully obvious...……………. ![]() MA, the guy looking at your engine was probably trying to see if it was a Pontiac big block, or a small block...……………………...LMAO

It happens.... all of what's been said. I was been told at one show that if you see someone's kid in or on your car they will be thrown out of the show. No refunds even if they had to pay to get in. Now this should be the norm at all shows. I hate car shows that charge for us to show our cars and they let people in off the street in for free. I don't care one bit if it's not promoting the hobby... they pay just like the rest of us have too. You don't pay you don't get in.
And no dogs, especially if it's a show on hot pavement. Take the temperature of the pavement at a show some time. It not all fun and roses for dogs. The pads on their feet are the only way they sweat. Burn the pads and the dog is in serious trouble. Best yet, make the one that has the dog on a leash take off their shoes and walk around on the pavement. And that's not saying a thing about doggy doo doo, or the tinkles on your tires. I saw the doggy doo doo that the owner didn't even bother to pick up at the Pypes show. I picked it up and let the guy know I was pissed. He just laughed.

Rules like this might actually be a good thing... Quote:
I'd rather put a twist on this; Generally the entrance fee for vehicle owners is to ensure that the operating club/organization can pay for the venue, the required insurance to do the show, and any other nice-ities like renting tents ect... I have been to a couple shows where the organizing club will actually line up sponsers to cover the costs involved - now that is nice! It's my opinion that often the entrance fee for a S&S and the required duration where you're essentially stuck to languish on the feild/parking lot is getting out of hand... I think this too is a fine idea. I would have tried to casually pass it to him under the guise of "it looks like you dropped this"... and uttered something that I'd probably regret saying if I had been in your shoes.

People need to remember one thing....... without the cars and trucks.......there is no show. Costs for a club or private individual to host a show, is not cheap! Location, food, bathroom facilities, awards, a DJ, advertising, trash recepticles, and trash pick up afterwards. often a portion or all proceeds going to a charity, or similar I’ve been doing shows since the eighties. Even donating items for goody bags, or door prizes. It’s not an easy thing, trying to get people to volunteer. Most shows charge the participants an entrance fee. Some shows charge a spectator fee, or donation. I think it will be very hard to enforce a scooter, golf cart, ATV limitation. I’ve honestly seen more car show staff, abuse these things more so than anyone else, racing around, crashing into and dumping over trash boxes etc. I suppose the only way to avoid these vehicles, is simply leave, or don’t come back. People rarely listen to what the DJ is even saying, even being rude during awards talking and laughing. If scooters etc, are banned from events, next it will be wheel chairs and walkers.

There is an annual car show in the town next to me. I never used to go because the entrance fee was something like twenty bucks a person just to get in. My upholstery guy told me that if I took my muscle car, the entrance fee was ten bucks and it came with two passes. So, I entered the car and took my wife to the show, and it only cost me ten bucks instead of forty.

I don’t think any of us are upset at the people that need scooters- weather they look like it or not. If I see someone on a scooter that’s designed for medical/age reasons I don’t gave an issue at all. These people are usually respectful of the crowds.
What I am upset/annoyed about is the golf carts that weave up and down the swap meet aisles. The ATV’s that cruise around people in the show field- there are a lot of people walking the show. I saw several examples of people jumping off of bikes/atv’s like the duke boys jumping in the general. No reason for them to be driving up and down the show or swap meet aisles. I understand Ames having carts to load/unload parts in the swap meet. Designated parking by each section is a great compromise. As far as not allowing the public into the show- We wonder why kids don’t want our cars yet we don’t want the public to see them?? I prefer the cruise in. Come and go at your leisure- anyone can attend. We had a great one but it recently shut down. The promoter charged to park in the area with security, food trucks, etc so people ended up parking outside the roped off area. Eventually the club could not afford to rent the parking lot. I went when I could- even if it was to pay my fee, drive a loop and go home |

Ya, bad enough those guys, then there's the inconsiderate a-holes on top. They seem to expand like amoeba right at the show.

On a positive note, I’ve been to a few shows and cruises where kids are on bikes, but..........they got off and walked through the center lane between rows holding onto the bikes. When I see this, I stop them, and thank them for being courteous.
