Not so much a "Show" as a "meeting"

Public shows for charities and such ... fine. But ... I don't know, the average public ... it's like a three star Michelin chef throwing a food show at a Pork Rind festival. It could be any car ... long as .. "that's a pretty color"

I have D.J.'d quite a few car shows and cruise-ins. I ALWAYS make it a point to announce reminders to people on bikes and scooters to please be courteous to show goers so we may all enjoy the show. Sometimes people just need a reminder. If that fails, then you are open game for my ire. If you are at a show do NOT piss off the D.J! You will not have a good time...............

The public has always been able to attend POCI, in fact that's how I joined way back when. You may be confusing the seminars and tech sessions with the show.

No. No it has not. I joined back in '83 just so I could go to the convention which was in my backyard. I was not allowed into any part of the convention unless I was a member.

Told this story before.
Umpteen years ago, POCI convention was in Grand Rapids MI. I do not belong to POCI, but lived a couple of hours away, and wanted to check out the show cars, and swap meet. I DID NOT wish to participate in meetings, seminars, side trips, meals, etc. Just see the show cars, and the swap meet.
EMailed the person in charge, told him this, and asked where those two venues would be held. He EMailed me back, and said, while they couldn't physically keep me away, they would discourage me from attending, because this event was for POCI members only. Never gave me locations.
