Some years back I put a 455 in my 1961 Chevy PU using all factory parts. I believe the Chevy truck frames are similar through 1972. I used the brackets that the frame half of the motor mounts from a late 1970's Chevy truck bolt to. They bolt to the top of the frame rail and to the top of the front cross member. I also used the Chevy's large rubber frame half of the motor mount. I used the Pontiac metal half of the engine mount bolted to the Chevy bottom frame mount. I assembled everything then lowered the engine into the frame. Where the brackets hit the frame rails and cross member I drill holes and bolted it all in. It wasn't necessary to fab anything.

The '70 GMC my sister has was originally 307 powered and dad's current '68 GMC project was a 305 V6, he used the big car mounts on both engines and made his own frame mounts in order to position the engines where he wanted them, The '70 has RA manifolds and the '68 will have plain logs. Here are the pics I was referring to in the assembly manual. You can clearly tell its a Pontiac engine by the valve covers, exhaust area, and the bolt going fro the timing cover to the intake.
