My guess is that you have the tach wire bundled with the radio wires. Did you remove the tach wire that went through the firewall when you tried running a line through the window?

It wasn’t bundled with the radio wires but it was coming through the firewall in the passenger side and running behind the radio. I used the same line. I unplugged it from the distributor and rerouted it through the window so it wasn’t near the radio wires.
