Buy pistons, rods are fine, with a good bolt they will be fine to 1400 h.p. Guy with a turbo on YB been using them for years with even more h.p.

Keep living in the dark ages George. You have the same junk for 20 years, there are pioneers pushing the envelope everyday. Not all the fast street cars have aluminum rods. And a lot of the street cars with those rods are faster than your race car.
You are like one of the old timers who still thinks 60-70 muscle cars were fast. Now a days an average car is faster than an old muscle car.

Dark Ages?....20 years ago? Not likely, I HAVE/BUY the BEST parts for my race car, you can't go round....after round....after round racing and make up to 1,400 HP with Junk Parts. I LOVE racing and I can't race if my car is broke! The proof is in my race car! "Pioneers".........now thats FUNNY!
As for 60's and 70's race car..........$3,500 would buy you a FAST car that you could actually work on, NOW............$45,000 and a lot more!

While the correct piston is the best answer. One can run two of the thinner heads and sandwich a machined spacer plate between them. I have seen this done / work with a 1/2" plate to raise the deck height.
