I would ponder this one for a while. Having owned a column shift 72 Formula, I can tell you that the market is way less for them than a floor shift car. If you invest a bunch and change mind, really, few people will want it. It will be a 20% deduction off comparable cars with floor shift (pure WAG, IMO). One might get forgiveness a bit on a prior years HO car. I would buy a column shift car if in good condition, but not a resto one. Column shift TA's get a bit more love, but still, who looks for one?
