Again, I think you are looking at a similar situation. As much as I like those cars, they did make 503 of them as you mentioned. They have a high survival rate because they were expensive originally and many were purchased as "investments" new. So if you bought one new, carefully stored it, got no enjoyment whatsoever from it, and now 20 years later it's worth 50% more than you paid for it, was that a good investment? Better than buying a Gremlin new
and storing it 40 years I suppose. But a great retirement plan? Probably not. Now if you bought it new, drove and enjoyed it, took great care of it and 20 years later could sell it for a small profit, it may have been a decent "investment" based on the value you put into the enjoyment factor.
