I think that's what we are all trying to do here, talk about cars. But your people skills are lacking a bit. I've seen nothing in here but help and good suggestions be ridiculed unnecessarily. More of an open mind and thicker skin would go a long way.

This thread is like a train wreck that one can not stop looking at.

Just changing cams again is not the answer.

When the original Edelbrock cam had its phasing changed. Do not know if it was then exactly correct but it was much closer to correct then when you started. You said you could not get it to run right. That was the point to find out what was really wrong.

Upon teardown I find that the lifters are still adjusted within the lifter plunger travel.

New parts will be here tomorrow and I will start the reassembly then.

Totally enjoying working on my car.

Should have it running again this week.

Ummmm...... .420" valve lift in heads that flow above .600" lift

And probably still with the Edelbrock single coil springs with the unknown spring pressure !!!!

Chances are just about zero that Edelbrock ground that cam.

Chances are just about zero that Summit ground their 2800 cam.

Chances are very good that they are the same cam ground by the same company. Yet look at what Summit says about that cam.

It really doesn't matter because you already have the Performer intake. And take the dyno numbers stated by Edelbrock with a grain of salt !

I hope that it turnout that you are very happy with the Edelbrock cam. As we all have a different idea of how we want our car to behave, we will each chose a different cam. But I am still going to go with what I posted almost a month ago. Which is a Pontiac cam that is about one step hotter than the Edelbrock cam. I think that would be the best all around cam for you.
