I remember a few ford and chevy vehicles that I had way back that were 3 on the tree. No matter what we drove we drove it like you stole it. Most of them didnt like to be speed shifted,,,lol. Trying to slam it from 1st to 2nd usually meant the linkage would get jammed and Id be on the side of the road crawling underneath to free them up.

Had a buddy that would take his dad's 56 chevy straight six and 3 on the column out, and pound on it all the time. Went for 2nd one day, and the shifter snapped off, and it and his fist hit the windshield, cracking it !! Needless to say, he wasn't driving it for awhile after that !
